Eligibility Criteria for International Students 

While the eligibility criteria may vary according to the course offering, here is an overview to study Masters and Bachelors at the University.

For Masters

To study masters at the University students need a GPA of 3.0. Furthermore, they also need a GRE or GMAT score depending on the course. The GRE Score required is in the range of 290-320 and the GMAT score required is in the range of 550-675.  Apart from this student also needs to show their English Language Proficiency with tests like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE and DET. The scores required for these tests are as follows.

Cost to Study at the University of Cincinnati

1. Undergraduate Scholarships

International Outreach Scholarship

  • Scholarship Type: Academic

  • Application Deadline: Between December 2nd-February 1st  Every Year


Description

This scholarship is for International Students living in the US and paying non-resident tuition for Undergraduate degrees and it is applicable for students studying at UC. Transfer students are also eligible. 

  • When it comes to academic requirements the Scholarship is a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. 
  • To be eligible for the scholarship students need to show English proficiency with tests like IELTS,or TOEFL. 

To be considered for the Scholarship, students are recommended to submit the  required eligibility documents or scores before the program priority deadline to receive the most consideration. This scholarship is renewable for up to 8 Academic Semesters. 


2. Graduate Scholarships

There is no application process for merit-based scholarships. Students will be selected for these awards based on their performance and what they submit with their online application. If an additional review is required, the university and the scholarship review team will notify the candidate and provide more details on the same.

Graduate Assistantships

These Assistantships give students the scope to work as Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants. Assistantships are not available during break periods unless additional compensation is offered.

  • To be eligible for an Assistantship, the student should be registered for 12 Graduate Credit Hours or more each semester, excluding Audit Credits. 
  • International students are required to have at least a 3.0 score on the Oral English Proficiency Test (OEPT). 
  • Students who score 26 or above in the Speaking Section of TOEFL iBT or students with a score of 50 or above in the test of Spoken English are exempt from the OEPT Test.

Student Life at the University of Cincinnati
