Aiming to strengthen the number of international students moving to Denmark, the Danish government has recently introduced a series of new rules for holders of residence permits issued for study and work purposes.

Let’s find out more about these changes and amendments ahead. This surely is a must-read for every study abroad aspirant planning to study in Denmark.

Among the many new changes, the first change that will be highly beneficial for international students is pertaining to the job-seeking period. International students from third countries, including India who have completed their professional bachelor’s or another bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD programs will be eligible for a three-year job-seeking period. In addition to this, students will also have the right to perform their professional qualifications after graduating from the program.

Another much talked about update is about the allowance of work permits without any limitations. Graduates from Danish Institutions are now allowed to apply for a work permit without limitations. Despite not having a job offer, international students can still work for unlimited hours outside of June, July, and August.

Furthermore, Danish Student Visa holders are now permitted to enter Denmark 30 days prior to the beginning of their course, and they can stay up to two weeks after it ends. Students will have to leave Denmark, after completing their education or they will have to find a job and apply for work and residence permits to continue staying here.

These new changes and the introduction of stay-back options are providing numerous opportunities for international graduates to explore job opportunities in Denmark and pursue career aspirations.
