Intakes

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in alignment with other intakes in Australia offers two structured intakes to accommodate the diverse academic timelines of its international student body. Remarkably, both are regarded as the major intakes. QUT application deadlines for each intake vary on the course selection and level of study.

February and July are the major intakes at QUT. These intakes offer all the courses available across various study levels. July Intake is popularly known for offering mid-year entry. Since every course is available in this intake as well, it gives an additional entry point to students and saves their precious time.

Courses at Queensland University of Technology

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) provides over 200 real-world courses across various disciplines, including Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and Professional Development options. Beyond these conventional course choices, QUT courses also include progressive study options like Double Degrees, Vertical Double Degrees and Pathway Programs.
 

For students who may not meet the direct entry requirements for Undergraduate degrees, QUT provides combined diploma-degree pathways through QUT College. Double degree programs enable students to pursue two Undergraduate degrees concurrently by integrating two distinct disciplines. Cost to Study at QUT

QUT tuition fees for international students vary depending on the chosen course and study units. According to QUT’s tuition fee deposit norms, international students are required to pay a tuition fee deposit as part of the acceptance process. The offer letter will specify the exact amount due. This deposit confirms the student's seat in the program and is credited towards their overall tuition fees. Scholarships at QUT

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) offers numerous scholarships to support international students in their academic endeavours. These QUT scholarships for international students are segregated into categories like merit-based, need-based, department-specific scholarships, exclusive scholarships for women, etc.
 

Most of the merit-based scholarships are open to all levels of study and cover up to 25% of the total tuition fee. The College Merit Scholarship in particular offers discounts on tuition fees for students enrolling in foundation or diploma programs. Likewise, other scholarships for selected faculties offer a maximum of 20% reduction in tuition fees. QUT scholarship requirements for international students differ based on their category.

Admission Requirement

Admission to QUT is based on a comprehensive assessment of applicants as per the minimum entry requirements for each course. Selection is determined by academic merit, English language proficiency, and, in some cases, additional criteria. Certain programs may require applicants to fulfil supplementary requirements such as auditions, interviews, or portfolio submissions. Upon receiving an offer of admission, students may need to submit outstanding documentation as specified in their offer letter to meet the final conditions of enrolment.
 

For applicants who do not meet the direct academic or Englsh language entry requirements, QUT offers a structured course package. This pathway program integrates the chosen degree with an English language, Foundation or a Diploma program. After successful completion of the pathway component, students can commence their full degree program. Indian students need to have a Bachelor's or higher degree from a recognised Indian Institution with a minimum average of 60%. 

IELTS (Academic): An overall score of 6.5 to 7.5, with no band scores below 6 to 7 bands are accepted. 
TOEFL iBT: A total minimum score of 79 to 100, with at least 19 minimum scores in each section are accepted.
PTE Academic: An overall score of 58 to 65, with no sub-score below 50 to 58 are accepted. 

 Some programs may have additional prerequisites like work experience, portfolios, research proposals, or interviews.

✅ Indian students need to complete secondary education, for CBSE an overall average of 75% in the best five academic subjects is accepted. This includes two languages and three academic subjects, barring physical education. 
✅ Indian students with a Senior or Higher Secondary School Certificate or Pre-University Certificate need to have an overall average of 85% in the best five academic subjects, excluding physical education.

IELTS (Academic): An overall score of 6.5 to 7.5, with no band scores below 6 to 7 bands are accepted. 
TOEFL iBT: A total minimum score of 79 to 100, with at least 19 minimum scores in each section are accepted.
PTE Academic: An overall score of 58 to 65, with no sub-score below 50 to 58 are accepted. 

Specific programs may have additional subject requirements for Mathematics, Psychology, etc. This QUT requirement for international students is similar for all, including Indian students.
