Overview

Massey University, located in Palmerston North, was founded on January 1, 1964. Originally known as Massey University of Manawatū, its name was shortened in 1966. Over the years, the university has expanded from a small agricultural college to become New Zealand’s largest residential university.
 

Massey university operates across three campuses in different cities: Manawatū, Auckland, and Wellington. The Manawatū campus, situated in Palmerston North, features green, park-like grounds in a student-friendly city. Massey University Auckland is in Albany, a suburb on the North Shore. In the capital city, Wellington campus sits at the southern tip of the North Island.

Intakes

Massey University offers both a major and a minor intake. The major intake provides a full range of courses, while the minor intake caters to only a few selected options.
 

After determining the appropriate intake based on the course level, students are required to carefully check the application dates. Massey University application deadlines vary for each intake.
 

The primary intakes are in February and July. The February intake includes admissions for Postgraduate and Undergraduate Degrees as well as Diplomas. Similarly, the July intake also covers all study levels, though some courses may not be available during this period.

The minor intake takes place in November and offers a limited selection courses in Business and Arts.

Cost to Study at Massey University

Massey University tuition fees for international students are confirmed once they have enrolled in courses through the student portal. The final fees are listed in the Offer of Enrolment.

Students are required to pay the full year's tuition fee when they accept their Offer of Place. Once payment is made, they will receive a Receipt of Payment, which can be used for their student visa application. Admission Requirement

Student Essential Services

Massey students are part of a diverse, supportive, and active community.
 

Student leaders, including the Student Association President and Vice Presidents, are elected annually and are responsible for student support. The Scholars Massey community manages peer networking and support for students with scholarships.

 

Students have access to study resources such as the Library, Centre for Learner Success, etc. Those staying on campus can enjoy the Dining Hall for their meals. For others, Wharerata Historic Homestead Café is available. The Sport and Recreation Centre offers exclusive facilities. This includes a fitness center, multi-use sports hall, squash courts, climbing wall, rugby and soccer fields, the Manawatū athletics track, and the Massey University Equestrian Centre.
